Soundtracks

To make our opening sequence much more professional we have decided to add music, not only for it to look better, but it adds to the mystery we want to create for our audience. When choosing the music we had to make sure that it wasn't copyrighted and it fitted within our theme. Luckily, we found the perfect track for our opening sequence and we feel highly confident its going to make it a bigger success.

Filming day - 1

(28/1/16)
In todays lesson me and my group went to film our first opening scenes to our sequence. We were well prepared and looked at our storyboard carefully to make sure we were following it correctly. We got all the footage we needed for that day and it made us feel quite successful as we completed it well and worked together in order to make the scenes look professional. The only downfall of our filming day was that the camera died quite quickly so in order to make sure it doesn't happen again we need to make sure its fully charged.

Production

In this lesson my group and I decided to draw up times and dates we were all available to film our footage. We crossed off all the days we could not do and focused on the days we could all do. This has helped massively as we have planned which day would be for which scene, making us more organised and prepared and we can now focus on other areas of the production stage.

Production meeting 1

In our first production meeting we decided to draw up our storyboard which will help us while we are filming our footage. Each scene was drawn up and a brief description of the scene was given to help describe what was going to happen in the scene. This has made our group much more organised and has helped us decide which day we are going to film the different scenes. Here is a picture of  our storyboard:

The title sequence

This is the title sequence we are going to use for our opening sequence. The background will not be black, but actually filled with footage for our film. The writing will appear over the top of the footage to give it a much more professional look. We think the text adds well to our opening titles as they create the mysterious theme we want to create.

Camera shots and angles

(17/09/15)

In today's lesson we learnt about the different types of camera angles and shots, and how each shot or angle can effect an audience when watching a film. Then we got into pairs and demonstrated how to do these camera angles and shots, by producing our own version of these pictures. Once we had understood each shot and angle with our own pictures, we created a power-point to edit the pictures in order to make them look like professional shots, so they were a clear rectangle shape and not square (a screen is never square always rectangle). This activity gave me a better understanding of camera shots and camera angles, and taught me that when filming never to imagine the screen as square.

Our idea..

Talking in our group we have decided to change the idea of our opening sequence. Our first idea was to follow a secret agents mission with a very significant spy genre. Instead of this idea we have decided to turn the secret agent into a police officer/investigator. This seemed much more realistic and fitted better within the locations, costumes and props, making our opening much more believable. We are still using the same locations which are Lloyd's house and the Yarnton quarry where the criminals will be caught. Our costumes are also much more causal, fitting better within the location as the first idea was for the agent to be in suits.
