In today's lesson I learnt about different types of camera shots and angles, and why directors use most of them in their films to create different reactions from the audience.
We looked at a clip from the 2006 "Superman Returns" directed by Bryon Singer. To get a better understanding of what common shots are used we had to analyse the clip and pick out what camera angles were used and why they effect the audience. In the scene I found certain camera angles such as:
- Eye level shot - This was used to show the power Superman has and how a bullet to the eye doesn't effect him.
- Low angle shot - to show the power and authority superman has over the 'bad guy' who is trying to kill and harm lots of police officers.
- Big close up - to show the reaction on Supermans face, it tells the audience what emotion superman is feeling.
